I never heard of NABE as slang for neighborhood cinema before. In fact, the upper left corner was a real struggle making today's Friday puzzle by Joe DiPietro (answers) a tough one for me. What's your favorite NYT puzzle? More importantly, how do you find it in my database? I'm working on a tutorial covering some tips and tricks. Coming soon.
Update: I've had several questions about nabe. It has occurred 8 times in my database, four as singular NABE and four as NABES but the last sighting was over 10 years ago so no wonder it's mysterious to us now.
