This is the grid of the current NYT crossword puzzle. The data here comes from the JSON feed at
XWord Info and automatically updates every day. With XWord Info, you can explore a wide variety of crossword statistics.
If this site were still an active crossword blog, the text you're reading here would be full of wise and witty observations about the puzzle you see to the right. As it is, you have to go to other crossword blogs for that sort of commentary. For reasons that may well be obvious, The JimH Crossword Blog recommends Wordplay for all your crossword blog needs.
And this is the previous day's puzzle with answers. Which puzzle is displayed is determined by a parameter passed to the xiInsertPuzzle() function. This parameter can be a date or 'recent' or 'previous' (like this one) or 'random'. Another parameter determines whether the grid is empty or the answers are filled in. Size and appearance are controlled by your CSS entries.
Just for kicks, here's a random puzzle. It will change each time you refresh the page.
