I was going to skip a post for the Saturday, June 28 puzzle but I wanted to at least say that it's a dandy one by Byron Walden (answers.) I'm a slow solver and a puzzle like this one that gradually reveals itself is very satisfying. Just look at 1 Across and 1 Down. A ZIPLOC BAG is a great "holder of many a sandwich" and a "corps of corpses" is a beautiful clue for ugly ZOMBIES. Then there's the parallel "they come with strings attached" clues for HARPS and YOYOS. The puzzle goes on from there. This is construction at a very high level.
I'm back on my regular schedule starting on the next post. With a few late entries and a couple of guest bloggers, we kept the good ship JimH Crossword Blog more or less afloat. Speaking of guests, Linda G is wrapping up her crossword blog, at least for a while, but you can expect to see her here as a future guest blogger. I like her style. I've promoted Ryan and Bryan to a slot in my "From Other Blogs" module on the right so now their hard work makes my blog better. I did this without even asking their permission to see if they'd sue me. I'll let you know. They're already on my handy Blogosphere Roundup Page which gives a handy one-page view of various recent crossword blog posts.
Finally, I do appreciate bug reports on my database site xwordinfo. Joon noticed recently that I had missed yet another old rebus puzzle and that's now fixed. Please let me know if you find errors by using the email link at the top left of this page or by leaving a comment. I do want to make my data as clean as possible.
